In loving memory of an old and deal friend who will be missed by so many.

Simon was a wonderful man, full of kindness, loyalty, integrity, pathos, intelligence, interest, warmth and fun. Always a twinkle in his eye as he made mischief. Never one to sit still, he always had so many ideas, so much energy and so many questions. He was a close, loyal and dear friend who was amazing company and a gifted host at the numerous dinner parties and barbecues we had over the years in Cambridge. His love for Sarah, Katie and Sammy surpassed everything and he was very proud of each of them. We celebrate the kind man he was and will always miss him.

We met Simon almost twenty years ago and quickly realized he was truly an exceptional man. We loved his intelligence, his kindness, and his generosity, but what truly won us over was his wonderful way of being a father and husband. His sensitivity and tenderness were the mirror of a wonderful soul. The world will never be the same without him; we will never forget you. Our hearts will always be with Sarah, Katy and Sammy, your best gift he left to the world

I knew Simon as a student, a few years later he was my news editor, then we worked together as media trainers over many years. I can still see him striding around- full of energy, ideas and humour. I still quote him in the training I do so he will be sorely missed by so many but he will live on in so many different ways.

We only knew Simon for a short time after he and Sarah moved to France, but we admired his tenacity and it was a privilege to have known him.

His gentle advice helped guide me when I found myself unexpectedly widowed. He had a ready smile and a gentle persuasion when needed.
